En Root Travel was founded in 2019 by two Howard alumna who became friends through traveling the world on service trips at Howard University! Nicole and Tyshana wanted to create a space for HBCU alumni to feel safe traveling the world, enjoy different cultures, and connect with HBCU alum in our post grad lives.
Our mission is to curate high quality, all inclusive trips that connect HBCU alumni to Black cultures while supporting Black owned businesses and giving back to local communities.
The pillars of all our trips are Tourism, Service, Culture, and Supporting Black Owned Businesses!
We spend MONTHS planning each and every detail about our custom trips to find the perfect balance of sight seeing and truly taking in the culture!
Intentional service is our goal! We work with community members in the countries we visit to make sure we are keeping their wants and needs as a priority, always.
The African Diaspora is full of life that we love to explore! We make it a point to travel to parts of the city where you’ll see and learn from people that look like us.
Black Owned Businesses are vital in our trip curation process and we make every effort to support them as much as we can in the countries we travel to and in America!
