Day 1: Saturday, December 27th
Akwaaba! Welcome to Ghana! Plan to arrive today as early as possible and you’ll be received at Kotoka International Airport (ACC) with a warm welcome! We’ll check into The Pelican Hotel and get settled before dinner.
Flights leave from the U.S. on Friday, December 26th
Hotel Check-In: 3pm

Day 2: Sunday, December 28th
Today we’re going on our tour of Accra! We’ll see Black Star Square, W.E.B. DuBois Center, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and more! Next we’ll head back to the hotel to rest and get ready for Afro Future Day 1!
Tickets for Afro Future will be available as an add-on once tickets drop.

Day 3: Monday, December 29th
Grab your favorite swimsuit because we’re going to the beach! We’ll enjoy some down time and relax in the sun and sand at one of Accra's well known beach clubs! After the beach we’ll have head back to the hotel to get ready for Afro Future Day 2!
Tickets for Afro Future will be available as an add-on once tickets drop.

Day 4: Tuesday, December 30th
Today is a very special day as we’re going to Elmina Castle at Cape Coast, also known as the door of no return, where our ancestors took their last steps on the continent. After our unforgettable experience at Cape Coast, we’ll head to our Naming Ceremony where we'll get to receive Ghanian names from our ancestors in a traditional ceremony with the village chief.

Day 5: Wednesday, December 31st
Today is our free day! Feel free to rest at the hotel, head to the beach, or explore the city! Tonight we'll meet back up and head to the all night New Year's Eve parties in Accra!

Day 6: Thursday, Jan 1st
Today is our last full day in Ghana and we can't leave without giving back! We'll have a later start then head to Women In Action, a women's vocational school that teaches trades like bead-making and hairdressing to help women start their businesses in Accra.
While we are here, we'll also get to take a cooking class by one of the students and a drumming and dance class so we can immerse ourselves in Ghanian culture.

Day 7: Friday, January 2nd
We made it to the last day! We’ll pack our bags and head to the airport with amazing memories of Ghana and a beautiful birthday trip for our girl Bria!

Arrival and departures flights will be from Kotoka International Airport (ACC). Flights are not included in the trip price. Please book your spot on the trip BEFORE you book your flight!
Bria would like everyone to arrive as early as possible on December 27th and by 4pm at the latest.
We will be staying at a The Pelican Hotel in the Cantoments neighborhood in Accra.
You can compare the best travel insurance options for you here. We strongly recommend travel insurance to cover any delays from the airline or issues you encounter in entering the country. We can not provide refunds if you miss the flight or get delayed due to the airline. Travel insurance is your best option to recoup any lost funds due to airline cancellations or delays.
Yes! You can choose to pay in full or pay with a monthly payment plan at check out!
The add-on activities are optional and can be added on at checkout. If you chose not to do an add-on you are welcome to stay at the hotel or explore Accra on your own.
The tickets for Afro Future have not dropped yet. Once they do we will add the ticket options as add-ons in your trip account. You can choose to do one day, both days, or no days of Afro Future.
