Day 1: Wednesday, March 4🌴 Welcome to the Real Belize! 🇧🇿
Arrive in Belize City (BZE), where our driver will take us on a scenic coastal ride to Hopkins Bay Resort, our beachfront home. We’ll spend our time in Hopkins experiencing authentic Garufina (Afro) culture in this local community.
After check-in, relax at the pool or beach before we come together for a welcome dinner to kick off our adventure!
Flight Arrival Time in BZE: By 3:00pm

Day 2: Thursday, March 5🥁 Culture or Chill — The Choice is Yours
After breakfast, you can choose your own adventure!
You can add on an unforgettable Garifuna Cultural Tour, where you’ll be immersed in the history, music, food, and traditions of the Afro-indigenous Garifuna people who make Hopkins so unique.
OR
You can keep it laid-back and enjoy the resort amenities — lounge on the beach, sip cocktails by the pool, or treat yourself to a relaxing day in paradise.
Tonight, we’ll come back together for dinner at the resort.

Day 3: Friday, March 6
🌊 Adventure Day (Optional Add-On)
After breakfast, you’ll have the option to add on a full-day excursion to St. Herman’s Blue Hole & Cave Tubing. Float through ancient caves, swim in sapphire-blue waters, and experience Belize’s natural beauty up close.
Not joining the excursion? Spend the day your way — whether that’s lounging on the beach, enjoying resort amenities, or exploring Hopkins at your own pace.

Day 4: Saturday, March 7🌌 Bioluminescence Night (Optional Add-On)
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Hopkins Village! You can spend the day in leisure on the beach or exploring the village’s vibrant Garifuna culture, food, and music.
In the evening, opt in for our Bioluminescence Tour add-on! This unforgettable boat ride takes you through mangroves and jungle waterways to Anderson’s Lagoon, where you’ll witness one of Belize’s natural wonders: glowing waters illuminated by bioluminescent plankton. A magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Day 5: Sunday, March 8Departure Day
After breakfast, we’ll check out and begin the scenic drive back to Belize City. From there, we’ll head to the airport for your flight home with lifelong memories and an even bigger HBCU family!

Arrival and departures flights will be from Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). Flights are not included in the trip price and must be booked by the individual separately. If you need assistance finding the best flight, please schedule a flight consultation with En Root Travel.
We are staying at the beachfront resort, Hopkins Bay Resort in Hopkins, Belize!
We focus on HBCU Alumni but we welcome all Black travelers on our trips! There are usually 1 or 2 people on every trip that did not attend an HBCU but want to travel the world with us!
Yes! The add ons for this trip are the Garufina cultural experience, cave tubing, and the bioluminescence night kayaking. Add-ons can be found at check out!
